Catch of the Day

This one caught my attention. 'All Hands on a Grain of Sand' by Amelia Curran, folk artist from her album 'Hunter, Hunter.' I'm not even that into Folk Music, but this one's special.

Video Clip of the Day

This one is a doozy. Here you will see an insane Phil Davison lose his mind, I mean, deliver a speech in an attempt to gain GOP nomination for Treasurer in Stark County. More like Stark, Raving, Mad County.

Anyway, think Chris Farley's 'Van Down by the River' routine or Will Ferrell's Mugatu character in Zoolander and you aren't even close to as crazy as this...display.

This guy has a master's degree IN COMMUNICATION!

Weird Song of the Day

Driving home, I heard this one and had to listen.  It's soooo weeeird...but interesting.  Paul Simon meets Zelda meets Bossa Nova meets Electronica meets Rugrats Theme meets more Indie weirdness.  I looked up the lyrics online and found out it's 'Horchata' by Vampire Weekend.  OOOkay.  That explains the appealing weirdness.  (This video includes lyrics so you can further be weirded out!!! :)

By the way, what the heck is Horchata?

Punny Book Title of the Day

Come on...it's kinda clever, isn't it???  I'd pick it up- even if it is about brats.
The blonde girl's facial expression (or lack thereof) pretty much matches the one I had at that age.  Look at those two.  Don't they know that telling secrets in front of someone else is rude??

That's all I have to say.

Chanson du jour

That would be Ben Lee's Catch My Disease from the album 'Awake is the New Sleep.' (I think I know what he means...Anyway) The title sounds kinda gross but the song sounds very cool. Looking at the video online, it looks like this kid is 12 years old. I heard it on the radio and that's why I like it.

Song o' the Day

Heard this one on my way home from work, as usual.  It's called 'To Take You Home' by Frank Turner from his album, 'Love Ire and Song.'  It's about a Parisian girl and a British boy and french kissing.  It sounds wonderful.  The song, I mean.

Lyrics Here

You can hear the song here.  And look at a monkey.

Book of the Day

Title:  "The Dot"

Author:  Peter H Reynolds

-Recommended by a co-worker.  An A+.  It is a children's book but it's a great read for all.  Read this one and pass it along to your friends and loved ones- or just keep it to yourself and apply the spirit of the book through your actions.  Elegantly illustrated.  Heart-warming.  Inspiring.

Great Clip of the Day

This is a great clip from an episode of Cougar Town that aired last Wednesday.  A little out of context but hilarious.

Grayson:  "Jules, sometimes in a relationship you have to do things you don't want to do.  It's part of being a couple."

Jules retaliates in the best possible way- by getting her best friend Ellie to cleverly remix Grayson's words.  Nice work, Ellie.

(Traffic) Jam of the Day

I heard this one, among other good ones, on 88.5.  Ah, that station delivers.  Especially in the late afternoon.

Today's jam is 'My Body is a Cage,' By Arcade Fire.  Very dramatic.

Titilating Title of the Day

Let's just say I came across this one at work.

-And WOW. Just...wow. I had to share this silliness with everyone.

Here it is.

"Nauti Boy"

Why...the...face? (WTF)

Seriously?  And as my coworker pointed out- what is with the faaabulous bird tatoo?!?!?!?!

Searching for a picture online, I discovered that 'Nauti' is a SERIES.  There are other 'Nautis' out there, including "Nauti Dreams," "Nauti Deceptions," "Nauti Intentions," and...le sigh..."Nauti Nights," which features just a glistening male torso on the cover.  The guy's face is completely cut out!

You can check out Lora Leigh's books here, Nauti or otherwise.

Clip of the Day

Pic of the Day

(Traffic) Jam of the Day

...and that would be 'Tell Me Baby' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Heard this on the way home from work. There is nothing in this world like the quality time I have with my car, listening to my tunes at full blast. (I'm a huge dork)

I totally had one of those Michael Scott moments, where I busted out some unintelligible vocals- since I don't know the words. Good times.

Hottie of the Day

Today's hottie is Jonathan Groff, known for his role as Melchior in Spring Awakening. He just joined the cast of Glee as Rachel Berry's (Lea Michelle) new love interest- and mine. Apparently he is a five time 'Jeopardy!' winner and used to work for Conan O'Brien. Plus, he sings. What's not to love about this guy? Definitely hotter than a hot dog.

Phrase of the Day

I noticed this amusing little phrase, while combing through the Children's Section at the Library. I came upon a book by Stephanie Calmenson called:

Nice. Next time I see a hot person, I will use this. Or, the next time I see a great athlete do their thing. Man, that ____ is hotter than a hot dog. And that is why I have no street cred.

Song of the Day

"Sweet Disposition"
By The Temper Trap

Heard it on the radio in the car on my way to work.

It's featured in the movie 500 Days of Summer, which is worth checking out as well.

This link shows live footage of Temper Trap singing this song.

Quote of the Day

"I speak Pun."
